Description
LSD1 is a nuclear protein containing a SWIRM domain, a FAD-binding motif, and an amine oxidase domain that is involved in gene regulation via demethylation. It interacts with and functions as a coactivator for androgen receptor (AR), a steroid receptor member of the nuclear receptor superfamily of transcription factors. LSD1 is widely expressed in human and murine adult and fetal tissues.
